Erwadi is a town located in the Kadaladi taluk of Ramanathapuram District in southern tamilnadu. It is located on the sea shore in between keelakarai and Valinokkam. The town is famous only because of the shrine of Hazrat Sultan Syed Ibrahim Shaheed badusha radiyallah ta'ala anhu.
The tomb of Sultan Ibrahim Syed Aulia who came from Arabia via Cannanore is about 800 years old. The sandhanakoodu festival is held celebrating the shahadat anniversary of Hazrat Qutb Sulthan Syed Ibrahim Shahid badhusha radiyallah Ta'ala anhu.The Grand festival starts on 1st of Zul Qaida and ends on 30th of Zul Qaidah of every Hijri year.
Erwadi durgah is a symbol of religious harmony in Tamil Nadu. People with satanic illness visit this durgah in large number and get cured.Though being a small town, Ervadi is the second largest contibutor for the revenue of Ramanthapuram District.
